Lauren is a Michigan native who now lives & works in New York. She practices in the NYC studio in Midtown.
30 days. That's a lot of work. Why are you doing it?

Well, I already did a challenge before. It was an incredible experience that healed my lower back. Now I want to do it again in order to deepen my practice.

That's brilliant. How often do you practice now?

About 5 days a week. But this consitency is recent. The first few years of my practice weren't as dedicated.

Yeah. Consistency is wonderful. It changes your practice in ways that nothing else will. Are you dealing with any other injuries now?

Not really injuries. I have overpronating feet--flat feet--which really affects the way I do my postures.

Which postures in particular?

Triangle and the first part of awckward. And it is also difficult for me to keep my toes and heels together.

Aside from deepening your practice, is there an intention you would like to set for your challenge? Perhaps a change you would like to see?

It's amazing because this practice has really humbled me.  I think one of the things you learn from practicing is how to really love yourself. How to accept and love yourself. How to be able to love yourself at any given moment, because the moment is already perfect. So I guess my intention is to continue down this path, and really focus on loving myself both before and after class. And whatever happens in between, well, it happens. I also want to focus on sending out more positive energy, especially in a situation where there is nothing but bad energy.

You're lovely. Off you go, have fun.

UPDATE: Lauren finished her challenge, despite various obstacles that came her way (moving apartments, best friends graduation & parties, a heat wave -- when the air conditioners were out). There were times when she was not sure she would make the 30 days, and then she remembered that when you set your mind to something - even with great challenges - you CAN make it happen! The 30 - day challenge taught her that consistency and a persistent positive mind will take you to the completion of goals. She has learned to thrive on facing challenges when the odds are not in one's favor. She also have been able to recognize the importance of self love and spreading joy! I am very thankful for my health and the ability to breath and smile.
